We have officially communicated with Grant. On Wednesday this week I was out in the back yard doing some yard work and I had Grant. I showed him a bird sitting in the tree and went on doing my work. Later that day he pointed with his chubby little pointer finger to a tree and said, ”Bi”. Sure enough there was a big crow in the Sequoia. I was amazed. He also is saying, “ball” when he sees a ball. One of his favorite games is playing ball. It begins with Grant rolling a ball toward you and then when you roll it back to him, at the last second he splits his legs just in time to grab the rolling ball. We will try and capture that on film. It is hilarious. This week the garage has been our project. We have been watching the workers as they sheet rock, tape, putty, and build. Blake got a carpenter’s belt for his birthday with a mini tool set and he has loved all the construction. He made a beautiful “hammered” board with his own nails and has been planning for a club house for the kids. As part of the garage construction a set of fold-down stairs has been added to the “attic” in the garage. The kids have named that “their” new “refuge.” (

Grant turns ONE
Sweet Baby Grant...got to have some fun today as the little person that he is. I actually carved out some time to take him to the park and let him climb and swing and be a little toddler. (poor 4th child) He is making the cutest faces these days-he squints his eyes and makes a big smile. He also is trying to babble. Keith got him to hold up his hand while Keith says "Your ONE!"
Because Keith was out of town last week for Blake's birthday we had a little celebration last night and Blake's cake yesterday, doubled as Grant's cake today. It was an oreo ice cream cake. Grant tried to grab the ice cream but it was mighty cold so he tried the chocolate frosting and smeared that everywhere. We filmed the whole cake scene. The face he made while he ate the ice cream was pretty funny but wasn't captured on film. Shoot.
He got some bath toys, balls, and he loves balloons and books. The theme of the birthday is the letter B.
What a little blessing he is. What a miracle and gift a little one is. We are enjoying this little person so much. His favorite game is to clap and watch all of us copy him clap. When he stops clapping we stop clapping. He laughs and we laugh. It is pure family fun.

GO BYU- Halloween at the Johnson's
After everyone around me has begun blogging I figure it is time to try. I barely know how to program the TV but I am told, "It's so easy." This is my test run... 1, 2, 3, testing>>>
This is going to be my attempt at journaling for now. At least to keep all our family updated with our family's happenings. This is our most recent family picture on the lawn before the ward Trunk-or-Treat. If you look carefully you will see the family football team had the buffest dudes the happiest cheerleader and even had their own custom "JOHNSON" football...
